Apprenticeship Opportunities at the Port of London Authority
The Port of London Authority (PLA) looks after a 95-mile stretch of the world-famous River Thames. We maintain and oversee safety of navigation and protect its environment, among many other responsibilities.
This summer, we are recruiting four apprentices for the following posts:
Marine Engineering Apprentice (Electrical)
Marine Engineering Apprentice (Mechanical)
Marine Operative Apprentice x 2
On 30 June 2017, information sessions are planned to help you find out more about these exciting opportunities. At the session, you can meet staff from relevant departments, ask questions and even speak to current apprentices who have first hand knowledge of what it’s like to be a PLA apprentice. Details of how to apply for the apprenticeship roles will also be provided.
You will also have the opportunity to visit our bases in Gravesend, Kent, including Denton Wharf and its engineering workshops.
The salary for these roles will be the statutory apprentice wage, dependent upon the successful candidates’ age, and includes 28 Days’ paid annual leave and eight paid bank holidays. Hours of work are 35 per week and include time at college.
If you would like to come along to the session, please register your interest by sending a brief email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please indicate which role you are interested in, detailing whether you’d prefer a morning or afternoon session, by no later than Tuesday 27 June 2017.
Closing date for applications is Wednesday 19 July 2017.
