Based in Gravesend, Kent and London
Starting salary £41,135 per annum
The tidal Thames throws off stories every day. Over its 95 miles, running through the heart of London you find one of UK's largest ports, busiest inland way for freight and passenger travel, and a centre sport, leisure and pleasure. And it's our job at the Port of London Authority to help all that activity happen in safety.
We're looking for a Communications Manager to join our team and help us tell the story of the UK's most famous river and the work we do to sustain it. It's a challenging role embracing everything from content generation, be it news releases or features, to distribution direct to journalists, on our website and via Twitter.
To succeed in this role you're going to need a strong background in communications, embracing content management systems, search engine optimisation and social media. You'll also need to be dogged in pursuit of a story and a first class writer. We'll have you out on our vessels as we marshal events like the Great River Race and highlighting interesting vessels as they come on the river.
In short it's a challenging brief for a professional communicator equipped with skills for the future.
