Tidal Thames Marine Mammals Partnership

The Tidal Thames Marine Mammals Partnership is a newly formed and evolving group aiming to:

  • Ensure consistent reporting of marine mammal sightings to http://sites.zsl.org/inthethames/
  • Co-ordinating first responder activities in response to reports of injured mammals
  • Educating the public as to when a mammal is in distress and how to act around mammals to ensure no further distress to the mammals and no harm to humans
  • Educating river users on how to act around swimming mammals

The Partnership has produced a leaflet to help the public understand what is natural marine mammal behaviour and how to report concerns of a distressed mammal. A link to the leaflet will be provided soon.
