Shornmead Chase

Shornmead ChaseThe annual Shornmead Chase was started by the PLA in 2014, bringing traditional Thames cutter racing to the lower reaches of the tidal Thames.

The event takes place in Gravesend Reach, starting at the PLA base at Royal Terrace Pier, heading downriver to and around Shornmead channel marking light, finishing at Denton Jetty head, midway back on the return upriver. The race distance is around 4 miles and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
