Salary: £60-66,000, plus car allowance

Based: Gravesend/London

We are looking for someone with a positive, can do attitude, committed to innovation who can help us tell the story of the Port of London Authority (PLA), the organisation that helps people to make the most of London’s greatest natural asset, the Thames.

The tidal Thames is home to one of the UK’s biggest ports, busiest inland waterway and a centre for sport and recreation. As a Trust Port, at the PLA we work to improve the Thames for the long term benefit of stakeholders.

Our new Communications Manager will take on day-to-day co-ordination of communications activities, across media relations, web, print and social media. This is a broad based role which will involve internal and external communications, alongside managing events and generating positive media coverage.

As a stakeholder centred organisation, substantial experience in stakeholder mapping, audit and management is essential. The successful candidate is likely to have at least ten years’ experience working in varied stakeholder environments, dealing with complex and contentious issues.

The post is based at the PLA headquarters in Gravesend, however there is extensive travel in the London and South East area. You will also be required to work out of hours on occasion.
