On Monday, 17 June 2013, 14 crews tackled the Admiral of the Port’s Challenge, a 1.33 statute mile race from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Boating Base. The crews raced traditional Thames cutters with four rowers, coxswain & two passengers. Formal results to be confirmed.View more
MS Adeline, the latest addition to CLdN’s fleet of ro-ro freight vessels was christened in a ceremony held on the River Thames on Friday 26th October 2012. Adeline sailed through Tower Bridge to be christened while moored alongside HMS Belfast. Honorary Chaplain to the Royal Navy, Reverend Gordon Warren lead the Christening ceremony from on board the river cruiser Silver Sturgeon, accompanied by the guests of CLdN. The Honourable Ms. Alice Walpole, Her Britannic Majesty's Ambassador to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, accepted the role of Godmother to the new ship. and concluded the formal ceremony by naming the ship and breaking a bottle of champagne against the vessel’s hull.View more
