New interactive river map

A new interactive map of the Port of London area can now be viewed online. The map shows the location of the port facilities and marine terminals on the tidal Thames. It will be a useful tool for people involved in transport, logistics, shipping and related fields.

Features include:

  • information on over 70 Port of London terminals
  • ability to ‘zoom in’ from a map of the London and south east area to pinpoint the specific location of any terminal
  • details of proximity to transport networks

Sophie Rutter, Web and Communications Manager at the Port of London said:

“The Port of London is located at the heart of the key markets of Britain’s capital and surrounding regions. This interactive map underlines this fact and will assist people in the transport and logistics sector in their work.”

Note for Editors

The Port of London is one of the UK’s top three ports, handling over 50 million tonnes of cargo each year. The port comprises over 70 independently owned terminals and port facilities, which handle a very wide range of cargoes. The PLA is the harbour authority for the 150km (95 miles) of the tidal Thames from the Estuary to Teddington.
