MV Resolution is a unique combination of tested technologies applied in innovative ways to provide a single-vessel installation solution for the offshore wind sector. It has been specifically designed to overcome the challenges that defeat current installation practices and techniques – including limited operational weather windows, low capacity and dependence on high numbers of infield logistical support vessels. The vessel is held on location by its own state of the art dynamic positioning system. The entire 130.50m x 38.00m vessel is then jacked out of the water at a rate of 1m per minute to provide a safe, stable working platform that remains operational well beyond the limits of traditional weather windows. With a large cargo capacity capable of carrying up to 10 wind turbines and high performance main and ancillary cranes providing the lifting capacity, the MV Resolution outperforms any other vessel currently installing off-shore wind turbine components. It also has accommodation for 36 installation personnel as well as its 34 regular crew members. MV Resolution is owned by Middlesbrough based Marine Projects International a company which took over the vessel following the collapse of its parent company Mayflower Energy PLC. It demonstrates the total commitment of MPI to the ofshore wind sector and the team of engineers who conceived and designed MV Resolution are among the company’s personnel. Contact: |

The only vessel in the world to have been purpose built for the installation of offshore wind farms makes a striking picture against the backdrop of Tower Bridge. The MV Resolution was in London at the invitation of the BWEA (British Wind Energy Association) to demonstrate its unique capabilities to the Assocation’s Members, environmentalists, MPs, and senior DEFRA and DTI personnel.
