Public meeting about the Thames

The River Thames is the subject of a public meeting taking place at the London Rowing Club, Putney, on Tuesday 26 February 2013at 6.30pm.
 
Entitled ‘Your tidal Thames - today and tomorrow', the meeting is an opportunity for anyone interested in London’s river to put comments, questions and ideas direct to senior staff from the Port of London Authority (PLA). 
 
The meeting is free and open to anyone interested in the Thames and in the work and activities of the PLA and related issues, on, or by, the Thames. Likely topics include safety matters and use of the River for leisure, recreation and tourism through to passenger boat and other commercial river operations.
 
 
Notes to Editors:
 

·         the Port of London Authority (PLA) is responsible for safety and other related matters on 150km (95 miles) of the tidal Thames from Teddington in west London through      central London and out to the estuary

·         venue details: London Rowing Club, Embankment, Putney, London, SW15. Starting at 6.30pm. Tea and coffee available from 6pm

·         nearest public transport: Putney Bridge tube station and Putney mainline railway station
