Starting salary: £40,167 per annum inclusive of allowances (after training)
Working in the Pilotage department, the successful candidate will be responsible for a dynamic roster that will involve tasking pilots for sea/river movements to meet the PLA’s statutory authority obligations.
Duties will include planning transport requirements such as taxi/cutter, communicating ship/act information to pilots and overall record keeping of information. This role will have the authority to allocate overtime and prioritise the order in which ships are served; therefore the ability to prioritise work and be assertive when required is essential.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education with previous experience of working in a busy operational environment.
You must have the ability to work under pressure to handle varied work demands and have excellent communication skills. This post will also require someone with some working knowledge of the River Thames, although specific training will be provided.
