The Port of London Authority is organising a public meeting on 18 March  - giving people an opportunity to discuss current and future matters concerning the tidal Thames.

The meeting - entitled 'Your tidal Thames - today and tomorrow' - is organised by the Port of London Authority (PLA). PLA chief executive, Richard Everitt and chief harbour master, David Snelson will both be present to begin the discussion and to answer questions.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 18 March at 6.30pm at the London Rowing Club, Putney Embankment.

It is open to anyone interested in the River and the work of the PLA. There will be a full opportunity to ask questions; raise any matters of concern; and for general discussion.

Issues under discussion will include:

  • management of trees on and near the riverbank
  • the Rowing Code of Practice one year after its introduction
  • river safety matters
  • leisure and recreational activities on the Thames

Commenting, PLA chief executive Richard Everitt said:

"This meeting will be of interest to people who care about the Thames today and in the future. It is an opportunity for us discuss our continuing work to improve the River and for us to listen to people’s concerns."
