Public meeting about River Thames

A public meeting to discuss current and future matters about the work of the Port of London Authority on the tidal Thames will take place on Wednesday 16 February 2011 at London Rowing Club, Putney Embankment, SW15 1LB at 6.30pm. 

The meeting will give local people an opportunity to put questions about the work of the Port of London Authority (PLA) direct to its senior managers. 

PLA chief executive, Richard Everitt will host the meeting with chief harbour master, David Snelson.  They will begin the discussion and also answer questions about PLA operations and work on the river. The meeting will focus on matters affecting the tidal River between Putney and Teddington. 

Anyone interested in the work of the PLA or activities on the tidal Thames in general is welcome to attend the meeting. 

Commenting, PLA chief executive Richard Everitt said:

“This meeting is for people interested in the work of the PLA on the Thames now and in the future - from leisure and recreational issues through to the need to ensure good safety. This will be an opportunity for us to listen to people’s concerns and ideas and to discuss our work."
