TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER
Salary: £46,926 per annum inclusive
We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Support Engineer to join the Navigation Systems Engineering Department.
You will be required to provide close support of many systems including but not limited to: vessel tracking and display hardware/software, marine VHF radio, radar, microwave links, CCTV/security, local and wide area networks, hydrographic survey and meteorological equipment. This work will involve installation, test and maintenance of electronic and computer based systems that help to ensure safe and efficient operation of the Port.
You must be self motivated and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Solid experience in maintaining radar and radio systems to component level are essential and ideally you will have specialist knowledge in network data communications. As part of the team you will work a 35-hour week in an eight-week cycle of day shifts covering 7 days of the week. There is an obligation to attend for duty outside the 35-hour week to meet operational and emergency requirements.
You should ideally be of graduate calibre, possess a full current driving licence and be prepared to work at height and afloat.
