PACE
At the heart of the Port's cargo activities, PACE is London's port community information system and is vital for the provision of up-to-the-minute information for 300 subscribers. Speedy and efficient cargo movement at the terminals and inland sites is dependent on PACE, which is developed, operated and administered by CNS. A secure extranet, the internet and links via similar systems in other UK ports make PACE readily available on any computer terminal. A cargo inventory of manifest data is the foundation of the PACE service. Information is instantly available through screen displays and in printed and electronic form. PACE offers procedures and facilities for:
Electronic submission, validation and clearance of Customs entries is facilitated by links to the CHIEF (Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight) system. The PACE Internet portal provides access to the PACE inventory system, CHIEF and a full range of information resources. These include selected websites (e.g. HM Revenue and Customs, shipping companies etc) providing information to assist subscribers with their day-to-day operations. Please click here to contact CNS for more information about PACE. |
