Ship Towage TugsUnder the PLA Craft and Boat Regulation and Registration Byelaws 2000 (as amended) the Master of any vessel wishing to undertake ship towage operations in the Port must ensure that the vessel is designed and suitable equipped for ship towage. In addition, the vessel must be approved by the Harbour Master as being suitable for carrying out ship towage operations. PLA Marine Surveyors undertake mandatory towing gear inspections on all such vessels on behalf of the Harbour Master.
