Economy  We support a port that is a local, regional and national economic driver, providing more than 30,000 jobs and adding more than £3.4 billion in value every year. We work with the operators of wharves and terminals in the Port to ensure that the overall London ‘package’ of cargo handling and port dues continues to be internationally competitive.
We are working to increase economic and environmental sutainability, working in partnership to secure the safeguarding of over 50n wharves in London (between Fulham and Erith) for long-term port use. .JPG)
We actively work with terminal and ship operators to continue to promote the use of the River as an alternative means of moving freight within London. This is an established practice which already saves over one million HGV trips in and around London every year.
