Schools Head of the River RaceThe Schools Head of the River Race (HORR) is held in March each year and is raced on the same 4.5 mile Championship course that is used for the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race. It is open to rowing fours and eights. All participants must be in full-time education, either in school or college, and must be at least 13, and under 18, years old on the day of the event. The 2009 event, which took place on 10th March 2009, was won by the Eton First Team in a time of 16 minutes and 27 seconds, narrowly beating Shrewsbury by 5 seconds. The next race will take place on Thursday 11th March 2010. More information will appear here nearer the date.
