Fuller's Head of the River FoursThis event was first run in 1955, when 34 crews rowed over a 3 mile course from Chiswick Steps to Putney Pier. Such has been the growth in the event's popularity it is now rowed over the full four and a quarter mile Championship Course from Mortlake to Putney, which is the Oxford and Cambridge boat race course in reverse. Entries are limited to a maximum of 550, which is the largest number of entries for any one race in the United Kingdom, but it is always oversubscribed. The next Race will take place on Saturday 8th November 2008, starting at 10:30 am. Click here for further information (opens in a new window). |
