Scullers Head of the River RaceThe Scullers Head of the River Race (HORR) is organised by the Vesta Rowing Club and is run on the 4.25 mile Championship course between Putney and Mortlake that is used for the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race. It was first held in 1954 and the 2009 event, held on Saturday 28th November, attracted almost 500 entries from all over the UK and the rest of the world, with standards ranging from internationals to novices The race was won by J Kirkwood of Imperial College Rowing Club in a time of 20 minutes, 55.38 seconds.
