The Wingfield Sculls

The Wingfield Sculls is held annually on the  4¼ mile (6.8 km) Championship Course from Putney to Mortlake. It dates back to 1830 and was founded by Henry Colsell Wingfield, a barrister, as the result of a wager.  The race is for single scullers and decides the amateur sculling championship of the Thames and Great Britain.

The 2011 event will take place on 10th July.
