Leigh Fishing Festival
The Festival is organised by Leigh-on-Sea Town Council and aims to increase public awareness of the local fishing and cockling industries and related activities in the town.
Fishermen are on hand to talk about the industry and how it has changed over the years.
There is the opportunity to see fishing boats of all ages and types and find out how fish gets from the sea to the table.
There will also be much opportunity to taste locally caught cockles, other seafood and to buy fish from local businesses and Essex grown oysters.
The 2011 Festival will take place on Sunday 31st July from 11am to 4pm on Bell Wharf and Victoria Wharf in Old Leigh.
