Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs)Cefas action levels do not contain values for individual PAHs. The action levels are therefore based on total PAHs. All samples, where analysis was undertaken for total PAHs, did not detect PAH contamination. Canadian sediment guidelines however contain individual values for specific substances. Where values were recorded, the majority indicated substance concentrations between the interim sediment quality guideline and the higher probable effect levels (PEL). |
