Remembering Slavery and the Windrush

Saturday 23rd August 2008 is  UNESCO's International Day for Remembrance of the Slave Trade. The Museum in Docklands is hosting a special day of poetry, stories and music in partnership with the London, Sugar and Slavery exhibit. 

This memorial event with the Windrush Foundation will mark both the 60th anniversary of the arrival of the Windrush and UNESCO international Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade. Hosted by Arthur Torrington and Burt Caesar, this packed day will feature special guest poets John Agard and Adisa, Windrush veteran Sam King, World War ll serviceman Allan Wilmot, Nyanome African Drummers and Dancers and much more.

The event starts at 10.30 am and will finish at 4.00 pm.
