Story of London

A festival celebrating London's past, present and future

Whether you want to discover the dark underbelly of Dickens' London, find out about life at the court of Henry VIII, watch fascinating archive films of the city, hear historian's tales or learn about the lives of London’s most iconic buildings

We are attempting to tell London's story and celebrate its past, present and future by engaging and collaborating with the capital's fantastic cultural resources. The month-long festival is targeted at all Londoners and visitors to London.

Although the motivation for such a festival lies with London's heritage sector, its intention is to be across all the art and creative forms to allow for a variety of access routes for audiences, stakeholders and cultural and creative organisations alike. Therefore, strands will include history, architecture, art, music, theatre, food, film and fashion.

Major partners will help curate each strand and also draw together a range of smaller organisations with each strand being truly pan-London. Well-known personalities will articulate aspects of each strand and contribute to the overall content.

Among the highlights are a Film Weekend, a London Walking Weekend, Lectures and events at some of London's top museums, including the Museum of London Docklands.
