Remenham Challenge
The Remenham Club was formed in 1909 to "strengthen the membership and resources of Metropolitan Clubs by consolidating their oarsmen and giving them a common meeting place in Henley".
The Remenham Challenge is a long distance race held each year on the third Sunday in January between crews from all the seven original founding clubs - London Rowing Club, Thames Rowing Club, Kingston Rowing Club, Molesley Boat Club, Twickenham Rowing Club, Staines Boat Club and Vesta Rowing Club. The race has no fixed location but is hosted by each club in turn, in alphabetical order, every year.
The 2012 Challenge will take place on Saturday 21st January over a 4000 metre course between Chiswick and Hammersmith, starting at 2.00 pm.
