Notification prior to entry into port
The MCA requires notifications of ship arrivals and departure and additional requirements for ships carrying dangerous or polluting goods in accordance with Merchant Shipping Notice (MSN) 1817.

All shipping movements should be notified to the Port of London Authority using the Port of London Authority’s PISCES on-line notification system. This is essential for those agents giving notifications for vessels carry dangerous and polluting goods when details of the Dangerous and Polluting goods manifest (or how it may be accessed on-line) must be included (from 1 Jan 2012).
Not signed up for PISCES notifications? – Contact the VTS Manager or Deputy VTS Manager (contact details below).
Note: If you are unable to make your notifications on-line, then notifications may be sent by e-mail or fax using the PLA Movement, Pilotage and PEC Notifications form. Click here for a Microsoft Word version of the Notification Form. This can be saved locally as a Word Template for repetitive use. Click here for a PDF version of the Notification Form.
