The ARA is the governing body for the sport of rowing in Great Britain, responsible for representing GB's interests to FISA, and for the preparation, training and selection of GB teams.

The ARA is also responsible for the organisation and development of rowing in England.

Auriol Kensington is an open, friendly rowing club which aims to provide competitive rowing and sculling for allcomers, young or old. Rowing is divided into two large senior squads for oarsmen and women, a novice group for beginners and a veterans section. All groups compete throughout the year.

Barnes Bridge Ladies Rowing Club (BBLRC) welcomes rowers (and coxes!) of all ages and abilities. We have a full range of boats available to members.

We run regular land based training sessions, such as circuits and weight training. If you want to row in a friendly atmosphere, on a beautiful stretch of the river Thames, where people are matched with others of similar ability and time constraints, this is the club for you.

Based at Barn Elms behind the Barn Elms Boathouse, the club is an open canoe-kayak club using and promoting the Thames for training and coaching. Our most active disciplines are white water canoeing, canoe polo and paddling on the Thames. Beginners are welcome - we always start people in a swimming pool or other flat water before going out on the Tideway. Unfortunately we do not currently have facilities for juniors/youth.

Furnivall Sculling club began life in 1896, probably the world's first women's rowing or sculling club. The club has been mixed since 1910 and today is known for its friendly club atmosphere combined with competitive crews and top quality equipment. One of the few Tideway clubs where you can particpate in the sport at any level, from the "learn to row in 10 lessons" to the sucessful men's and women's rowing squads who regularly win medals at the UK National Championships.

Globe RC is based at the Trafalgar Rowing Centre in Greenwich, where there is a licensed bar, and changing and fitness facilities.

New members are welcome to try out the sport, before becoming full members. Globe RC is open to all, regardless of age, gender, race etc.

The club has a membership open to men and women of all ages and standards, and are now admitting a limited number of junior rowers.

There is a good fleet of boats including single sculls, double sculls, pairs, fours, quads and eights. Club outings are usually on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays but vary according to the level of rowing you commit to. We have a licensed bar, and hold regular social functions.

Richmond Canoe Club was founded in 1944. Today, the club concentrates on sprint and marathon racing and recreational paddling, both in canoes and kayaks.

The main aim of the Centre is to provide activities for young people but equally adults join in the fun through their clubs and through courses.

The Centre is a superb facility for learning watersports. The seven acres of the Basin and slipway access to the broad, fast moving water of the River Thames present the ideal water conditions to provide both safety and adventure from beginner to expert.

Sons aims to extend a welcome to anyone who wants to join our club. We were one of the first clubs to really welcome women, and also pride ourselves on the variety of nationalities and occupations we can boat within club crews. We will teach new members who have never sat in a boat before and also seek to draft more experienced members straight into our Henley squads - we have a squad of coaches who will ensure members are fitted in as best suits their skills.

The London Regatta Centre is located in the heart of the Docklands area in the east end of London. It is built on the site of the historic Royal Albert Dock directly opposite London City Airport. The centre is well served by public transport and is two minutes for Royal Albert Station on the Docklands Light Railway and also has good road connections to the M11 and M25.
