Notice to Mariners

L2 of 2006  Thames Estuary. The Oaze Precautionary Area and The Warp Pilot Boarding Area

Notice to Mariners No L32 of 2005 advised of forthcoming changes to the W OAZE buoy and the establishment of the OAZE BANK and OAZE buoys. These took place on 13th January 2006.

Notice to Mariners L32 also advised that inward vessels intending to embark their pilot in the Warp should use the channel between the OAZE BANK and the OAZE buoys.

The chartlet shows changes to the Oaze Precautionary Area, a revised position for the Warp Pilot Boarding Diamond and a new Pilot Landing Diamond in the vicinity of SEA REACH No 1 buoy associated with the above buoy changes.

Masters are warned that except in an emergency they should not embark their pilot inside the Oaze Precautionary Area.  Landing may take place in the Precautionary area but Masters should avoid impeding inbound vessels whilst making a lee.
