Notice to Mariners

L3 of 2006  Thames Estuary. The Oaze Precautionary Area and The Warp Pilot Boarding Area

Further to Notice to Mariners L2 of 2006 Masters are reminded that inward vessels from the Oaze Deep bound for either the Port of London or Medway Ports requiring to embark a pilot, should do so in the Warp, approaching via the channel between the OAZE and OAZE BANK buoys. Vessels approaching from the north requiring to embark a pilot should also do so in the Warp.

The chartlet on the reverse of this Notice shows changes to the Oaze Precautionary Area, the revised position for the Warp Pilot Boarding Diamond and a new Pilot Landing Diamond in the vicinity of SEA REACH No 1 buoy. Vessels outward from the Medway may continue to land their pilot in the vicinity of the Medway Buoy.

Masters are warned that except in an emergency they should not embark their pilot inside the revised limits of the Oaze Precautionary Area shown on the accompanying chartlet.
