Notice to Mariners

No.17 of 2008  Pilotage Exemption Certificate and Local Navigation Certificate Assessments

Mariners are advised that with immediate effect, all PEC and LNC assessments (applicants and holders), are to be conducted on inward passages only. This is to allow for a better assessment of ship manoeuvring skills during a berthing manoeuvre and also takes into account the fact that an inward passage tends to become increasingly exacting as the available sea room reduces.
