Regular Updates to ETA/ETD's

While the PLA strives to supply a pilot for ETD’s of 4 hours, due to the geographic dispersal of its pilots, in times of high demand there are occasions when a pilot’s travel time to the location at which he is required exceeds the 4 hours confirmed notice required.

For this reason the PLA stresses to Operators that giving a provisional ETD and regular updates to it, could substantially enhance the probability that a pilot will be scheduled to order.

Operators are also reminded that regular updating of ETA/ETD (we recommend a minimum of six-hourly) is vital to our process of forward planning.  It is dependent on a flow of up-to-date information, and at times of peak demand.  Operators may find it to their advantage to keep us fully and reliably informed.

Please tell us what you know, as soon as you know it.
