Thames Vision 2050: Have Your Say

Welcome to the initial stakeholder engagement for the development of Thames Vision 2050, the first update to the tidal Thames development framework.
We are currently seeking views from everyone who has links to the Thames – from work to sport, travel to enjoying its environment – as we assess how best to respond to factors including climate change, the opportunities of new trading arrangements, the impact of the pandemic, changing patterns of consumption and rapid evolution in technology.
As the UK’s biggest port and busiest inland waterways for freight and passenger travel, the Thames is set to play a central role in the recovery of London and the South East, with scope for safe, sustainable and equitable development across the estuary.

We want to hear from you about the future of the tidal Thames in light of the changes since the original Vision launched in 2016. A document setting out the major areas of change, including a framework of the key factors set to influence the future can be found via the link below. There is also a Progress Review of the developments in river use over the last five years.
This initial phase of engagement concluded at 12 noon on Wednesday 14 July.
We conducted a series of events to hear from people interested in the future of the river and development of Thames 2050. To see summaries of the sessions click here.
