A Chartered Accountant, he gained a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry with Business Studies and is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ACA).  Tony, who was born and raised in London, has direct experience as a major port customer from his work at Drax.

Commenting on the changes, PLA chairman, Dame Helen Alexander said:

"I would like to thank Peter Matthews for all he has done for the PLA. As we pursue our vision of a vibrant, safe and sustainable river, his contribution has been outstanding. Pommy Sarwal’s financial and sector experience is invaluable to the Board and his contribution will be missed.

“I am delighted to welcome Tony Quinlan to the board and we all look forward to working with him.”
