The Cleaner Thames campaign is all about stopping the tide of rubbish that is ending up in the River Thames. In 2019, 200 tonnes of material was recovered from the Thames with plastics, including single-use disposable plastic items, being the most dominant form of litter entering the PDCs.

With researchers at Royal Holloway, University of London, finding that up to 75% of some types of fish have plastic fibres in the gut, the campaign partners are calling on Londoners to ‘do the right’ thing and make sure their rubbish goes in the bin, not in the river.
